The healthy eye

The eyes are the gateway to the world. No other sensory organ brings us closer to our environment. This gives our eyes a very special significance.
In a normal-sighted eye, the light rays are bundled by the lens in such a way that the hit the middle of the retina - the macula - exactly. Although the entire retina is covered with sensory cells, we can only see clearly within this small area (approx. 0.02 % of the retinal surface).
